Meet Our Ponies

Greetings!
Most of Our Animals are considered "Rescues"  or have been purchased based on them not thriving where they currently were living.  Some of our "large" ponies or "small horses" will have a brand on their necks from The Bureau of Land Management  (BLM) as they were once real life- wild horses who had to be rounded up in their herds because the land on which they roamed freely on, were no longer providing enough Nourishment or water to support them. So now they live out their days with us, where they get a new purpose in life and can be spoiled rotten :)

We have intentions in one day having a 501c ourselves, in which our old, medically challenged, and special needs cases can be protected and provided for until the end of their days. Also a huge bonus is that volunteers can help take care of them, and that we could apply for grants for them as well.

Life is just one big learning curve and we are here to learn!

"With a little Rust-eze-and an insane amount lof luck- you too, can look like me. ka-chow" -Lightening McQueen (Cars)
Well, of course we Call him Rust!
he is a little RUSTY... and little "New" to everything here at Snows Pony Rides, and we lease him out to young youth in our community who would like a Pony to call their own as a "Project" Rust-eze needs a lot of work is still just begining to understand what all this life has to offer him, but we are sure with a little elbow grease, he will be just as good as his look-alike and partner in crime, Rein.

Sage

2004

Mare

Blue Roan Shetland x

weight Capacity of 50IBs

Sage came to us from another Pony Company who noted that Sage does not like to be on a Wheel/Carousel or to load in a horse trailer with other ponies. We took what the company had to say and did our best to keep in mind, and gave Sage plenty of time to rest and we started over. We worked with Sage as if she was a brand new pony just starting out, and went through the basics and have been using her regularly ever since. We have noticed that Sage is opinionated over who rides her, and who she is with (pony wise) but as long as we have an open line of communication, Sage is pretty clear on her likes and dislikes and we do our best to accommodate her. She really is a special little pony and we look forward to all the years we have with her.

Sassy

2006

Mare

Bay Welsh Cobb

weight Capacity of 80IBs

One of the best, easiest, most loving Ponies we have. Sassy has a couple of quirks but who doesn't? She is truly an amazing asset ot Snows Pony Rides.

Shadow

2012

Mare

Shetland x

weight Capacity of 60IBs

Shakira

2014

Mare

Morgan x

weight Capacity of 150IBs

Shakira is one of our latest "Rescues" as she was bought from a livestock auction and was never properly handled. She is currently in training to learn how to be a good citizen and provide rides for littles.

SPRINKLES

2016

Jenny

Standard BLM Burro

weight Capacity of 80IBs

"SPRINKLES" aka "The Killer Donkey" Sprinkles is another rescue that came to us from an uncertain fate. She was Once a born and raised wild Donkey, and then was rounded up, trained and adopted out. we are uncertain of what the circumstances were but the prior home she came from had adopted her to be a "livestock Guardian" for a herd of sheep, and from the stories we've been told, in a matter of one week - Sprinkles killed an entire flock of sheep and severely injured the farmers two dogs.

so, Sprinkles came to us.
Sprinkles is now, used frequently with our small farm animals (w/no problems?) and is ridden frequently by Emmett (owners 13yr old son) She too is another one of his favorites.
whatever happened to Sprinkles before her time with Snows, we are uncertain of but we are incredibly thankful she is here with us now!

Suzi

2012

Mare

Shetland x

weight Capacity of 60IBs

OH SUZI! what would this world be like without her in it? well a little dim, is what i'd like to think! She is full of sass and has a job to do, so be sure to stay out of her way. she enjoys working very much. Suzi has a confirmation default that is very common in ponies, where she has a very loose ligament that sometimes makes it difficult for her to move her stifle (back knee) so sometimes you may see her stomp her leg down while walking, which doesn't mean she is in pain, but rather she just doesn't have full control of her joint. so she stomps it down from time to time.
we know how awkward that can be to watch, so truthfully we dont use Suzi on jobs that often because of how it may appear to those who arent very knowledgeable. (sad, i know) All Suzi wants to do is work! and be with her friends- just ask her!

TINSEL / ROOSTER

2022

JACK

White Miniature donkey x Standard

(Not a riding Donkey)

Holly x Greg

Whats's in a name? well it matters greatly on the owner's family member who you ask!  Rhiannon Calls him "Tinsel" because well, Holly is his mama and we always need Donkeys for Christmas. But if you ask anyone else in the Huppert family, his name is ROOSTER (from Top Gun Mavrick movie) Insert my eye roll.

Tinsel/Rooster is learning to be a good citizen and how to be used for petting zoos and jobs. it's a rough life when you're a babyb to be asked to stand for hours on end and not play.

Tulip

2021

Mare

Black Welsh x

Weight Capacity of 80IBs

Tulip is a baby who was bought from a livestock auction in 2022 by another pony company on the belief that she was old enough to be ridden (a small child was riding her) only to be unloaded at home and realized she was just a yearling (baby).  And with that news, Instead of investing time and energy into a baby, we decided to take on the task!  (we couldn't be happier).

Valor

2017

Mare

Dapple Gray BLM Mustang
Weight Capacity of 150IBs

Valor was trained by a friend of ours and due to Valors small stature (she came from the same herd as Pixie) we decided why not take on Pixies relative? We can always use another "Large Pony" please welcome Valor to our herd.

2019
Gelding
Chestnut Welsh Cobb
Weight Capacity of 80IBs

Whiskey, once a stallion now new Gelding is In training to be a good Pony and providing pony rides to all who want them.
